What I ate today, Healthy Shepherd's Pie

What I ate today, Healthy Shepherd's Pie

1 minute read

Most nights my husband cooks - what can I say, I’m really lucky. The occasions when he gets home late and I’m the one to cook, I use my secret (not-so-secret) weapon to make our meal; Shroomeats.

Healthy Shepherd's Pie

If you're looking for a healthy and delicious dinner option, look no further than this Shepherd's Pie made with Shroomeats Mushroom Shred-It. This mushroom-based meat alternative is perfect for those looking to reduce their meat intake without sacrificing flavor.

Did I mention it's Husband Approved?

I’m definitely not much of a chef, so my cooking style is always with the easiest process.

I started by preheating the oven to 375°F. In a pan, I seasoned and cooked my Shroomeats Mushroom Shred-It according to the package instructions.

I love how Shroomeats has a texture and flavor that's similar to beef, so it makes a great substitute in dishes like this Shepherd's Pie.

I then started preparing the frozen veggies in a pan until they were tender and set those aside.

Once the Shroomeats and veggies are cooked, I layered the ingredients in a baking pan; Shroomeats on the bottom, veggies next, then neatly adding the frozen tater tots.

I then baked it until the tater tots started to brown and then added the shredded cheddar cheese to the top. Baking it until the cheese started to bubble and brown on the edges and then taking it out of the oven to let it cool.

Not only is this dish delicious, but it's also a healthier alternative to traditional Shepherd's Pie. By using Shroomeats Mushroom Shred-It instead of beef, there’s less saturated fat and cholesterol. Plus, the addition of veggies and tater tots makes it a well-rounded meal that's sure to satisfy.

If you're looking for a tasty and healthy dinner option, try this Shepherd's Pie made with Shroomeats Mushroom Shred-It. It’s so delicious and husband approved!
